The Presence of Aromatic Substances in Incense: Determining Indoor Air Quality and Its Impact on Human Health

Indoor air quality has become a topic of great concern. Burning incense recently been identified as one the primary sources volatile organic compounds, specifically benzene, in an indoor setting. The current paper aims to evaluate compound (VOC) emissions, particularly within environments through utilization experimental clean room. Experimental findings showed that 10 types sticks emitted benzene concentrations between 11.1 and 66.5 μg m−3, which were 2.5 lower than limit suggested for non-occupation exposure (160 m−3), by American Association Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH). Furthermore, correlation dimensions (diameter length) combustible parts stick was investigated indicated slight influence on release benzene. Taking into consideration substantial human health, coupled with lack precise legislation regarding residential settings, this research serves initial investigation noteworthy effects burning private public settings.
